Canada - Bud's Big Blue

Twelve Penny Black - Not yet in the collection!
Bud's Big Blue
Bud's Observations
With excellent commentary about Canada’s stamps already online, I’m reluctant to write anything except brief words about this particular collection.

BB’s Canada filled up quickly for me owing to three specialty albums acquired at auction and to the general popularity of our near-by neighbor’s stamps in ordinary feeder albums.

Even so, I’m lucky to have found the $2 and $5 of the Jubilee series as well as some of the rarer earlies. The Jubilee series is not entered in the album by increasing denomination because of the two redundant spaces BB provides on page one.

The supplement pages have some duplicates and small shade studies.

Census: 213 in BB spaces, 18 tipped in, 63 on supplement pages.

Jim's Observations
Unbelievable.

The coverage is really really good. True, many collectors of Scott Part 1 (Big Blue) have a natural interest in the stamps of Canada, so the editors made the right choice. But if the Big Blue collector wants to fill the early classical issues, be prepared to spend serious green.
